Barbara Wheeler Schneider Memorial Scholarship This scholarship is awarded each year to an Arkport Central School senior based upon their scholastic ability and demonstrated concern for their fellow classmates. Applicants must submit a typed summary of why they feel they should be considered for the award. You should also include service type activities which you have done in school, in your church, with the scouts, the community or for any person or group which would "demonstrate concern by the individual." Arkport Faculty Association Scholarship This scholarship is available to all students that will be entering the field of education or a helping profession and has a high level of academic achievement. Abbott and Fenner Business Consultants This scholarship of $1000 is available to all high school juniors and seniors. An essay on "What have you done outside the classroom that demonstrates qualities sought after by the post secondary institution that you are hoping to attend? VFW Voice of Democracy Scholarship Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of Foreign Wars' premier scholarship program. This scholarship is open to students in grades 9-12, who are enrolled in a public, private or parochial high school. Jenkins Memorial Scholarship for Teacher Education This scholarship in the amount of $3000 assists outstanding students in preparing for the teaching profession. It is awarded annually by the NYS PTA. Criteria for judging includes: character, personality, academic achievement and potential teaching ability. Candidates must be high school seniors who plan to prepare for a teaching career and who plan to attend a college of the State University of New York (or a two-year community college before transferring to a college of the State University of New York.) The Wilson Center - Leadership Award The Center is offering $1,000 leadership awards to four (4) high school seniors within the eight (8) counties* of Western New York who will graduate in June 2013. Canisteo Valley Historical Society The Canisteo Valley Historical Society offers a $200.00 scholarship to a graduating 2013 senior at Arkport Central School. Arkport Alumni Assocation Scholarships College Bound Applicant must be a current member of the Class of 2013 and accepted or in the process of admission to any degree-granting institution for Fall 2013 matriculation. Military Service or Work Force Applicant must be a current member of the Class of 2013 and accepted or in the process of admission to any branch of the military or will be heading out into the workforce after graduation.
